Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)

As of Monday 24 February 2025, the current MASH arrangements, currently delivered via a service level agreement with Hampshire County Council on behalf of the Isle of Wight will end and the MASH arrangements for the Isle of Wight children and families will be provided on Island by Isle of Wight Children’s Services.
To reflect these changes, from the 24 February the  Inter-Agency Referral Form (IARF)  will be found on the Isle of Wight Council’s website, the Isle of Wight Safeguarding Children Partnership website. The link will be shared via email with all partner agencies.
Professionals are required to complete an Inter-Agency Referral Form (IARF) when making a referral to Children’s Services, via the updated IARF webpage link. There will be a new professionals telephone line and number in place.
Both will be live from 24 February 2025
As a reminder to colleagues, before you complete an Inter-Agency Referral Form (IARF) you should consult the  Threshold Chart in reference to the child/young person and their individual circumstances. Please note the Threshold Chart has not changed.
The new Isle of Wight MASH team will endeavour to speak directly to each referrer upon receipt of an IARF to discuss the detail of the referral, threshold application, and outcome decision. If you have any queries or questions relating to a referral, threshold application or the outcome decision please contact the MASH team directly (details below).
Out of hours service
There will be no change to the delivery of the out of hours service from 24 February. The Isle of Wight Children’s Services out of hours service will continue to be delivered by Hampshire County Council, via a service level agreement, on our behalf.
